Dr Shirley Chapman
Dr Shirley Chapman is a dedicated medical professional with over four decades of experience in women's health and breast medicine. Originally from the UK, she immigrated to Australia as a child and graduated in Medicine from the University of Queensland in 1980.
Dr Chapman began her career at Cairns Base Hospital and went on to work at Mater Misericordiae Hospital in Brisbane and Calvary Hospital in the ACT. Since 1983, she has been actively involved in general practice, balancing her professional life with raising four children.
In 1991, Dr. Chapman relocated to Toowoomba, where she expanded her expertise by working with Family Planning Queensland and the University of Southern Queensland Health Centre. From 2004 to 2024, she contributed to the St Andrew's Diagnostic Breast Clinic, building lasting relationships with her patients and providing compassionate care.
Her areas of interest include women's health, breast medicine, LGBTQIA medicine, and psychiatric care for young mothers. Dr Chapman is passionate about encouraging her patients to lead well-rounded, healthy, and fulfilling lives.
Outside of her medical career, she enjoys reading fiction, exploring spirituality and history, and is committed to continuous medical education. She is excited to join her colleagues at Breast Health Toowoomba where she looks forward to continuing her mission of patient-centred care.
